I finally watched Avatar 3D! Watched it with my cousin and my auntie at 2pm, 31 Dec 2009.
A perfect way to end the year :)
Storyline: Was quite typical. These group of scientists and army guys are trying to get a precious stone, located at Pendora(not sure of spelling), that is selling for a high price. The problem is that the Nomads (the blue-skinned people) are occupying that area and they refuse to let the humans get what they want. Thus, the humans send Jake, who is wheelchair bound, to interact and find out about the Nomads. Jake is ecstatic that he is able to run in his avatar - a Nomad's body mixed with human DNA. Soon after entering the Nomads' world, Jake fell in love with a female Nomad who taught him everything that he needed to know about the tribe. Then, the humans could wait no longer. They infiltrated the tribe's place and destroyed their sacred tree. Jake then decides to help the Nomads and turn against his own kind.
Verdict: A touching story about love, betrayal, trust and freedom. Great visual effects and the Nomads' expressions were flawless. Great music that complemented well with the movie. I had my heart thumping while looking at the action before me and listening to the nerve-wrecking music. Though, there ARE some portholes - I keep finding these these days. Regarding the fact that Jake changed 'birds/dragons' or 'airlines', what happened to his previous one? I have always wanted to find out. Hmm... that remains a mystery.
Rating: 4/5
A must-watch! :D
